Freshman Laura Rivera was chosen as the region MVP. The award also earns her an All-American nomination that is deserving of such recognition. Her 17.9 rebounds per game lead all NJCAA women's players. She also ranked in the country's top 30 in scoring at 17.8 points per game. Rivera scored a season high 27 points twice (1/9 Olive-Harvey, 2/20 Kankakee) and her best rebound performance was 27 (2/22 Highland). In her 22 games this season, she recorded 20 double-doubles.
